What the model reads
Set how much leave one person is entitled to in a year. Only an administrator may, and the record refuses anybody else. The number replaces every grant they hold, so 'give them three more days' is read with leave_balance first and written as the total. Somebody who has never been given a number of their own holds the company's annual grant, which company_settings_get answers as leaveDays. Requires approval; an entitlement is what every later leave is spent against.
